While the International Ice Cream Association member companies’ recent survey stated that vanilla was still the most popular flavor with 28% of their consumers, Americans are adventurous with their dessert choices. This is especially true with ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, and gelato. Even though they may reach for a scoop of vanilla, there are so many varieties of this flavor as well. Some prefer old-fashioned vanilla, while others want to see and taste the vanilla beans.
You probably also know that every year, there are roughly 1.5 billion gallons of ice cream and other frozen delights produced in the United States. Most of this ice cream is produced in June, just in time for summer. However, Americans enjoy eating ice cream throughout the year, including winter.
