How to Make Sun Dried Tomato Hummus

Hummus dips are easy appetizers guaranteed to agree with even the pickiest eaters. Plus, there are tons of different, delicious types of hummus, like roasted garlic hummus spread, avocado hummus dip, and even jalapeno hummus for the spice lovers. However, it’s sun dried tomato hummus recipes that are really something else.

With that said, here’s one of the best sun dried tomato hummus recipes out there for you to show off at your next get-together (or to make for yourself one night when you decide to binge watch a new show).

Get your ingredients. – The first thing you’re going to want to do is grab your ingredients. You’ll need a 15-ounce can of chick peas, one-third a cup of sun dried tomatoes, two tablespoons of olive oil from yoru jar of sun dried tomatoes, three tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, two tablespoons of tahini, a large clove of garlic, half a teaspoon of salt, and two tablespoons of fresh basil.

Preparing your hummus. – Now that you’ve got all your ingredients, it’s time to get cracking. Put your chick peas, sun dried tomatoes, olive oil, lemon juice, tahini, garlic, and salt into a food processor, and pulse it for about a minute. Then, scrape its sides and bottom to get it all off. Pulse it for another minute to make sure the texture is correct. Then, add two tablespoons of liquid from your can of chick peas, and pulse it for another couple of minutes, stopping halfway through to scrape the sides again. Once done, add basil and pulse it until it’s been minced into the hummus.

Garnish and serve! – Now that your hummus is essentially made, it’s time to garnish and serve it. You can top it with some of the sun dried tomatoes you have lefto over, and even drizzle some of the olive oil from the can to give it a more presentable appearance. Serve with pita chips, or fresh veggies, and enjoy!
