Golf is a difficult sport played by people who have a deep distrust in their own abilities to play other, more athletic sports like soccer, basketball, baseball, hockey, tennis, rock climbing, and more. Golf is a difficult sport because it is demanding in more ways than physically. It challenges the mental aspect of a person.
Golf is a game that is played by human beings on courses that are called golf courses. These courses are made of grass. They are carved out of the land of a certain area. They have sand traps, which are called bunkers. They have ridges and valleys. They have long places where the grass is short. They have long places where the grass is long.
There are some statistics surrounding golf courses. They are in the following section. They include the demographic make-up of golfers, the amount of calories golfers can burn by walking with a bag, the history of golf, and the chances of that difficult hole-in-one, specifically the odds of making two in one round.
- A maximum of 14 clubs is allowed in a player?s bag at one time during a stipulated round.
- A regulation golf ball has 336 dimples.
- 23% of professional golfers are female.
- A 175-pound man can burn 460 calories if he carries his clubs during an hour of play. On a nine-hole course, he can end up walking almost 2.5 miles.
- The chance of two holes in one in a single round are approx 67 million to 1.
- By 1900 there were more than 1000 golf clubs in the US.
Golf courses are difficult because they present many different and difficult obstacles for a person to overcome. There are many different traps associated with golf courses, including the aforementioned sand traps and the long grass, which is called the rough. There are other obstacles as well.
Golf presents many difficulties for those that play the game and call themselves “golfers.” Most holes in golf are at least 50 yards long and sometimes they run up to 600 yards or even longer.
To get to the green, which is the place where the hole is where the general goal is to put the small ball with 336 dimples in the hole, is at the far end of that “hole” (this referring to the segment of the course where the golf is being played). That requires the use of clubs, of which 14 are allowed.
These clubs can range from the smallest club and the one that is used on the green called the “putter” to clubs that hit the ball 300 yards or longer (called the driver). There’s a mix of clubs that are all designed to get the ball closest to the green in order to put the ball with 336 dimples into the hole. Clubs hit different lengths.
The difficulty for golfers is that the person who is hitting the ball must abide by a set of rules to get the ball in the hole. There are certain rules which must be followed. There is only one stroke per turn (in most golf formats) with no re-dos. While there is no limit on what club can be used, except on the green, only certain clubs will work.
For instance, using a driver in a sand trap will result in a more messed up shot than the previous shot where the driver was used. Generally, lower clubs are not used in a bunker unless the lie is clean, the lip is low, and the ball is playable, usually by an experienced professional.
On some of these courses, there is a clubhouse, in which wedding receptions can be had. Some of these wedding locations go by different terms. They include same sex weddings, romantic wedding places, unique wedding places, places for wedding receptions, part venues, outdoor wedding places, and many more.
There are some venues that permit or allow for same sex weddings, likely because it is prohibited by law to prohibit same sex weddings due to discriminatory practices. Same sex weddings are a new but empowering occasion for those that are bisexual or homosexual and are looking to wed a member of the same sex.
Same sex weddings, while reviled in some places, are becoming more accepted. It’s a beautiful thing for people to do.
