Over one third of adults in America are obese. The amount and variety of food available in the United States is incredible. Unfortunately, a lot of it is unhealthy. While unhealthy meals would not be a big problem if they only happened occasionally, many Americans make unhealthy eating their lifestyle. Besides helping people to look more attractive, healthy meals can help a person to avoid health problems like high blood pressure and cholesterol, diabetes, and heart disease. A person who is able to eat healthy meals will usually have increased confidence and self esteem as well. When you eat good, you feel good. Technological advances allow doctores to do a lot to the body of a person, but no matter what, a person still only has one body. Caring for that body with good exercise and nutrition can set a person up for a long and healthy life. Eating healthy meals is not always easy. Healthier food options often cost more than food options that are not good for the body. Also, the American culture has conveyed the message that it is acceptable to eat gross amounts of unhealthy food. Many people have few qualms about their diet, even though they know it is unhealthy. A constant diet of healthy meals will lead to benefits in the future. A person who eats right and exercises is more likely to be happier with themselves as well as avoid future medical problems. Taking care of your body now can make it so that your body is still functioning at a high quality in the future.
